Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. I'm so excited to begin this new chapter in my photography career. I wanted to start off with an introduction.

My name is Amanda MacDonald, but you can call me Mandy Jo.

I'm a wife and mother to three crazy kids and two fur babies. My twins, Brooke and James, are three and my baby girl, Camryn, is one. I also have 3 amazing step daughters!

Our family recently moved from Bowmanville, Ontario to Kelowna, British Columbia and we are absolutely loving it so far. It is so unbelievably beautiful here and my little photographer's heart is just overjoyed at all the new incredible location opportunities.

I've always had a passion for photography and it had always been a hobby for me. I especially loved capturing great photos of young children. Before I had my own babies, I worked as a nanny and I used to love catching great photos of the kids I was taking care of to send to their parents during the work day. I loved giving them that little connection to their children when they couldn't be together.

Until I had my own children, I had thought about pursuing photography as a career but it never seemed the right time. When the twins were born I decided the time had finally come and I began working toward a career as a photographer.

I absolutely love what I do. Catching those special moments, creating magic during editing, and delivering amazing memories to my clients is so much fun!

When I'm not working with clients or editing sessions, I'm usually chasing my own children around trying to keep the chaos to a minimum. I love cooking and enjoy working to develop that skill as well. I also love reading, though these days its typically in the form of audio books so I can multitask! I also just love to enjoy nature. Visiting a park or the beach, going on a nature walk, or simply sitting outside while my kids play. Being able to work outdoors for photoshoots is good for my soul.

My plan for this blog is to share some of the behind the scenes of amazing sessions as well as to share some of the images captured during those sessions. I will also be posting tips for making the most of your photography session, pro tips for your own photography, and little insights into my life with my family and as a photographer. I hope you enjoy sharing the journey with me!
